Gifts, rewards and contacts, rethought
- Gifts around people and occasions: ideas stay hidden from the person they are for, everyone (children included) keeps a wish list whose givers stay a surprise, “I’ll take care of it” keeps two people from buying the same, and each coming birthday, Christmas or dated occasion gathers its gifts with an optional budget only grown-ups see. Paste a product link and Tribu fills in name, picture and price. A week before a birthday without a gift, grown-ups get a reminder. (#575)
- Rewards around goals: everyone collects stars, grown-ups too, saves for a wish of their own and puts stars into family goals reached together. Praise works with or without stars. (#573)
- One place for contacts and birthdays: every person is a contact with their birthday, duplicates can be merged, a contact can be linked to the family member it is (“Hannelore Müller” on the phone is “Hannelore” in Tribu), and members’ own birthdays join the list. (#571, #574)
Planning
- Week at a glance: a day board to plan the week from instead of a page to print; entries open where they come from, ”+” per section. (#565, #566)
- Recipes: open a recipe to cook from, and take recipes from a link. (#564)
- Shopping categories in every language, manageable and optional. (#563)
- School timetables show the timetable first and edit behind “Edit”. (#559)
- Tasks can repeat every two weeks. Thanks, @azeroth12! (#556)
- Share into Tribu: text and links shared from other apps become entries. (#555)
Displays
- Arrangements, a week timetable card and a graphical layout editor; a display can show one school timetable in full. (#560, #561)
- A theme mode toggle for shared displays. Thanks, @azeroth12! (#552)
Phone sync (CalDAV/CardDAV)
- Incremental sync with sync tokens, so phones fetch only what changed, and alarms, links and other properties calendar apps add to events survive the next sync. (#570)
- Locations, multi-day and counted events are kept, and Tribu’s contact edits reach phones. (#569)
A calmer sign-in
- The sign-in page shows a look at a day in Tribu. (#572)
Fixes
- Texts left in English are translated, and mixed French is rewritten; German display theme texts use “du”. (#558, #568)
- The product catalog no longer answers readers of other languages in English. (#567)
Upgrade notes
- Database migrations 0069–0075 run through Tribu’s normal upgrade path.
- 0070 stores every translation of a built-in shopping category under one label, so categories no longer grow once per language.
- 0072 turns every birthday entry without a contact into a contact with that name and date.
- 0073 clears currency names that were only the English starting presets (“Stars”, “Gems”, …), so everyone sees them in their own language.
- 0074 adds the members’ own birthdays to the birthday list.
- The dashboard layout endpoints (
/nav/dashboard-layout) are gone; the web app and the Tribu app 2.0 no longer use them. (#557) - Gifts are no longer adult-only: children see wishes and the ideas they wrote themselves, never ideas meant for someone else. Families that do not want gifts turn the area off under Settings → Family.
- New push category Rewards (praise received and wishes waiting for a yes), on by default. The gift reminder a week before a birthday uses the Birthdays category.
- The Tribu Android app 2.1 needs this release for gifts, rewards and contacts.
Maintenance
- Backend dependency updates. (#514)
