Reactive Resume

Reactive Resume v6 is a full redesign. It rebuilds the workspace around your documents: one library, a Write / Design / Check editor, an assistant whose edits you review, standalone cover letters, and an application tracker centered on your next step. A new PDF engine, Forme, makes the preview match the download exactly.

Highlights

• One Documents library. Resumes and cover letters live together, start from one New document dialog, and go to Trash (recoverable for 30 days) instead of being deleted outright.
• Write, Design and Check. The editor splits into three focused modes. Edit entries in place, enter structured dates, and keep unsaved changes on the device.
• Two new templates: Porygon and Smeargle. Preview any template with your own content. Grouped design controls, fit-to-page without deleting content, and sidebar placement are also new.
• Check mode and a public ATS checker. Review issues where they appear, compare your resume against the job posting, and inspect what a parser actually reads.
• An assistant that proposes, you decide. Ask for help inside a resume or letter, then accept or reject each proposed edit. It can also search and read public pages when web access is enabled.
• Cover letters as their own documents. Letters get the shared editor, their own typography and page settings, linked sender details, and drafts from a resume plus a posting.
• A rebuilt application tracker. Save a job before preparing for it, track interviews on a calendar, record what you actually sent, close applications with a reason, and read outcomes from real stage history.
• Share, download and history in one panel. Safer public address changes, a reflowed reading view on phones, and named, previewable versions with a Before restore safety net.
• Every PDF rendered through Forme. The same engine renders previews and downloads in the browser and on the server, with better Unicode, ligatures, pagination and language-aware hyphenation.
• Import LinkedIn’s data export without AI, and import, export and check documents through the REST API and MCP.
• The Desk & Paper visual system, with better mobile layouts, accessibility and reduced-motion support throughout.

Before you upgrade (self-hosters)

v6 includes breaking changes. Back up your database and uploads, stop every v5 instance, and deploy v6 in one step; mixed v5/v6 rolling upgrades are not supported. Instances behind a reverse proxy must set TRUSTED_PROXIES, styles from the old style editor need a one-time conversion script, and API/MCP clients need updates for structured dates, application statuses, Trash and cover letters.
