2026-08-13In the last few weeks, most of the Gramps Web development work went into Gramps Web API, Gramps Web’s server component – see its v3.20 Release Notes for details.
Moreover, the Gramps Web Sync Addon has seen a major upgrade to v1.5, with a completely new UI. Check out the blog post announcing it.
Meanwhile, work on the user interface has also continued, adding two minor (but useful!) features in this release and fixing several issues, some of them long standing ones.
New Features
- Instead of manually creating a source, tag it, add a note and a media file, you can now write a blog post by using the new dedicated blog post authoring form added by @oaksprout in https://github.com/gramps-project/gramps-web/pull/1320
- The relationship of a child to their parent (birth, adopted, etc.) could only be specified upon adding the child to the family, but not edited afterwards via the web interface. This gap was now closed by @sabal202 in https://github.com/gramps-project/gramps-web/pull/1289
Fixes
- The onboarding form now finally works in multi-tree setups, too! Implemented by @DavidMStraub in https://github.com/gramps-project/gramps-web/pull/1321
